[ARCHIVED] Westmont Public Library Plans for Fall

Library logo

Westmont, Illinois
Date Issued: September 2, 2020

The Westmont Public Library (WPL) has been working hard to make sure their patrons are able to safely enjoy all the Library has to offer. Following are some of their plans for Fall.

School Resources Webpage

In order to make it easy for teachers, parents, and students to find library resources quickly, the WPL has put together a School Resources webpage.  You will find school related resources by subject, homework help, local health and school resources, homeschooling resources, and much more.

Digital Library Cards

Westmont residents can sign up for a digital card to access online resources for up to 90 days.  Use your digital Library card to enjoy free ebooks, music, movies, databases, and more from home. Before it expires, stop in the Library with proof of Westmont residency to extend your registration.

Monarch Festival

Join the WPL virtually for this year’s Monarch Festival. There will be a video presentation on Encouraging Pollinators and a take-home monarch craft.  You can also download monarch coloring pages from the WPL website. There will be free seed packets for pickup in the lobby from September 21 to 26 to grow pollinator-friendly plants around your home.

Craft Programs and Kits

Create with the WPL.  Throughout the months of September, October, and November, pick up a free kit of program supplies, then follow along at home with video instructions.  Kits will be available (supplies are limited) for pick up starting on the same day the video program goes live on the WPL YouTube channel.

Library Calendar

Keep an eye on the WPL Event Calendar for all upcoming programs.

Coronavirus Updates

The WPL is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for patrons to browse the physical collections and use the computer lab in one-hour time frames for Westmont residents.  Meeting rooms, study rooms, and play areas remain closed.  The WPL  reopening website page will be updated with changes to Library services as they occur.
