On Monday afternoon, Westmont and much of northern Illinois experienced a powerful storm that resulted in area power outages and wind damage including downed trees and broken limbs.
After the storm, Westmont Public Works immediately began tree, limb, and debris cleanup on public right of way including streets and sidewalks. All damage and debris that occurred on private property is the responsibility of the property owner. To report trees, branches or debris in the public right of way, please contact Westmont Public Works at pw@westmont.il.gov.
As a result of the storm, there have been numerous power outages throughout the Chicagoland area. At the time of this press release being published, more than 7,500 outages have been reported affecting over 325,000 customers.
