“The people of Westmont have done an amazing job of donating food and volunteering in the food pantry,” said Michelle Clegg, Development Director at People’s Resource Center (PRC). “They are instrumental in helping PRC continue its mission.”
People’s Resource Center continues to provide assistance to the public during the COVID-19 response, distributing food and providing financial assistance to neighbors in need. This modified services plan, which took effect this past March, includes delivering pre-packaged food boxes into car trunks during Food Pantry hours. All other services are closed, and the buildings remain closed to the public. Since March, PRC has distributed food into more than 7,000 car trunks while the Social Services program has answered over 775 calls for financial assistance.
PRC is accepting food donations for its pantries in Westmont and Wheaton in order to provide healthy, nutritious food boxes to people in need. Items that are most wanted include: canned meat (tuna, chicken, chili, etc.), canned vegetables, peanut butter, diapers in size 5 & 6, and baby wipes. Monetary donations are accepted as well.
People’s Resource Center exists to respond to basic human needs, promote dignity and justice, and create a future of hope and opportunity for the residents of DuPage County, Illinois through discovering and sharing personal and community resources.
