Dear fellow citizens of Westmont,
On behalf of the Village, I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to last night’s meeting to share their difficult situations regarding community flood concerns. Our hearts go out to all of the people who have been impacted by this devastating issue.
At this time, I am calling for the development of a Community Stormwater Management Ad Hoc Committee which will consist of residents, business owners, elected officials and staff. This matter will take all of us working together as a team if we want to be successful in addressing the challenge before us.
We seek residents from throughout the community so that the whole of Westmont is represented on the committee. We plan to set an ambitious timeline to begin meetings, review stormwater management issues, identify priorities, make recommendations for projects, and develop strategies to secure funding. Also, as this is not a problem that is unique to our community, we will be calling on County and regional agencies for their support in addressing our local stormwater management challenges.
We need your help and ask you to step forward to address the concerns of our community. If you are interested in being considered as a member of this important project, please fill out the online form on our Village Website at westmont.illinois.gov. For additional information, please contact our Media Relations Coordinator Larry McIntyre at Lmcintyre@westmont.il.gov or call 630-417-0280.
Working together, we will be successful.
Sincerely,
Ron Gunter
Mayor of Westmont
