Westmont, Illinois
Date Issued: November 21, 2019
At the November 21, 2019 Village of Westmont Board Meeting, the Village Board approved a proclamation to dedicate Williamsburg Street in Oakwood Subdivision in honor of longtime Westmont resident and active community volunteer Gregg Pill. A commemorative street sign displaying the text “Honorary Gregg Pill Way” was presented to Gregg’s family, including his wife Patricia, his two sons Michael and James, and his mother Irene, during the ceremony. Mayor Ron Gunter also presented the family with a Key to the Village. Pill passed away suddenly in June of 2019.
The presentation for the proclamation included several guest speakers including friends, family, colleagues, and more. Gregg was known for many things - especially his passion for Westmont. Over the years, Gregg was involved with the Westmont Chamber, the Westmont Planning & Zoning Commission, the Westmont Fitness Center, as well as numerous events including the Race to the Flag 5K, Westmont Restaurant Week, and much more.
“Gregg was an amazing resident who had great energy and talent,” said Mayor Ron Gunter. “Gregg was a unique person who was passionate about all he did. He is greatly missed.”
