[ARCHIVED] Westmont Partners with SCARCE to Reuse and Recycle Right

Westmont, Illinois
Date Issued: October 24, 2019

The Village of Westmont has been working with School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education (SCARCE) for many years.  SCARCE strives to provide DuPage County with environmental-friendly educational resources and programs.

SCARCE accepts items to be reused and recycled every Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Donated items should be placed in boxes, approximately the size of a copy paper box.  To schedule a donation of 5 or more boxes, call 630-545-9710.  Items are not accepted outside of scheduled donation hours.

The list of accepted items collected by SCARCE is always evolving.  Following is a list of some of the items that SCARCE regularly collects:
  • LP records, CDs, DVDs, Laser Disks, and Video Games - NOTE: NO CASES
  • School and office supplies (IE: writing utensils, art and craft supplies, yarn, crayons, white boards, scissors, staplers)
