Hotel/Motel Grant Request - Rotary Club - 2023-24 Community Event Calendar

Board to consider a motion awarding a Hotel/Motel Grant in the amount of $2,500 to the Westmont Rotary Club for the 2023-24 Community Event Calendar.

Background of Subject Matter
This will promote events and activities of local government agencies, Chamber, WSEC, and service clubs to both residents and out of town visitors. The calendar will provide information and photos from events to showcase Westmont and attract visitors.
Additional Background
This request mirrors the request approved in 2022. If this is approved the Rotary Club will have been awarded a total of $2,500 this fiscal year. We will have an additional $12,500 remaining in this budget.

Engineering Agreement - Village Engineering Services

Board to consider an ordinance authorizing an agreement with Primera Engineers, Ltd. for Village Engineering Services in an amount not to exceed $96,500.00.

Background of Subject Matter
Request to approve the sum of $96,500.00 for Village Engineering Services for the period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
Additional Background
Primera Engineering has been providing general Village Engineering Services for many years. Duties include acting as Village Engineer, performing engineering reviews and inspections and other engineering tasks as requested.

Award of Proposal- Fire Department Exterior Improvements

Board to consider an ordinance awarding the proposal from Granite Construction Company for the Fire Department Exterior Improvements.  

Background of Subject Matter
The Village solicited proposals from several firms for exterior improvements at FDHQ. The project includes specialty work such as doors and waterproofing that made finding a single contractor for the work challenging.
Additional Background
This project will include waterproof membrane, tile floor, door replacement, exterior concrete walkway and associated restoration. The contractor will also handle coordination of the various work items for a complete project.
Recommendation
Staff recommends awarding the proposal for an amount not to exceed $125,000.00 to Granite Construction Company.

Engineering Agreement- Phase 3 Construction Engineering for Residential Alley 12N Reconstruction

Board to consider an ordinance authorizing an engineering services agreement with Thomas Engineering Group, LLC for Phase 3 Construction engineering services for the Residential Alley 12N Reconstruction project.

Background of Subject Matter
Request to approve the sum of $155,550.00 for Phase 3 Construction engineering services for the Residential Alley 12N Reconstruction project.
Additional Background
This agreement will include construction administration, field inspection and documentation of this alley reconstruction project. This is a conservative proposal; the project is projected to run over two seasons due to anticipated Nicor relocations.
