2021 - Independence Day Celebration

Village Board to consider an ordinance approving the following requests regarding the annual Independence Day Celebration at Ty Warner Park:
  • 4th of July special event traffic plan - Various one-ways and street closures around Ty Warner Park from 6 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Amplified sound permit
  • Tent permit fee waiver
  • Alcohol fee waiver

Board to consider an ordinance granting the following requests from Kimberly Duffek for a beauty salon on the ground floor of 36 S. Cass Avenue:
  1. Zoning Ordinance special use permit to allow a beauty salon on the ground floor in B-1 Limited Business District. 
  2. Zoning Ordinance B-1 Development Permit.

This item will require approval of a Special Use Permit to allow a beauty parlor on the ground floor in the B-1 Limited Business District and a B-1 Development Permit.

Amendment to Class 5 Liquor License Classification

Board to consider an ordinance amending the Class 5 Liquor license classification on-site tasting events if desired. 
Background of Subject Matter
Board is asked to approve changes to the language of the Class 5 liquor license to allow Class 5 licensed businesses the ability to conduct alcohol tasting events if desired. Serving sizes or amounts will be limited.
Additional Background
This change allows current Class 5 licensees like Jewel/Osco, Walgreens, Prestige liquors and any other future Class 5 licensees to conduct alcohol tasting events. The sample/tasting sizes are limited to the same sizes as our Class 17 license description.

IGA - IL Office of the Comptroller for Debt Recovery Program

Board to consider an ordinance approving an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Office of the Comptroller regarding access to the comptroller's Local Debt Recovery Program.  
Background of Subject Matter
As discussed at prior committee meetings, this is a tool required by our collections company. This would mean that if someone owes us money and is owed money by the State, the State will pay us on their behalf.
