Board to consider a resolution approving the Environmental Improvement Committee program to encourage residents to wait to mow the grass until Mother's Day.

The resolution is intended to encourage pollination. The long grass would allow pollinators like bees to pollinate plants at the most critical stage of the year.

Mayor's Monarch Butterfly Pledge

Board to consider a resolution accepting the Mayor's Monarch Pledge through the National Wildlife Federation. 
Background of Subject Matter
On March 16, 2017 the Village Board approved a resolution supporting the DuPage Monarch Project. This pledge reaffirms the goals of the project on a national level.

Award of Bid Proposal - 2021 N. Washington-Oakmont Lane Water Main Improvement

Board to consider an ordinance accepting the bid proposal from J. Congdon Sewer Service Inc. for the Village's 2021 N. Washington / Oakmont Ln. Water Improvement Project, and authorizing a contract consistent with the bid documents.
Background of Subject Matter
The Village accepted bid proposals from 4 contractors for the 2021 N. Washington / Oakmont Ln. Water Main Project. The low bidder was J. Congdon Sewer Service with a low bid of $720,402.60 (approximately 8% below the Engineering Estimate of $849,765.00.

Staff recommends awarding the Water Main Improvement Project to J. Congdon Sewer Services Inc. with a bid of $720,402.60

Surplus Property - Westmont Fire Department

Board to consider an ordinance declaring miscellaneous Fire Department items, including a Pierce Fire Engine, as surplus property.
Background of Subject Matter
The property (as defined in the attachment) has outlived its useful life and is outdated, non-functioning, or is otherwise not economically maintainable. Equipment will be sold, donated, or scrapped as appropriate.

This property, upon being declared surplus and disposed of, will be removed from the Village's property inventory.

Four (4) cubicle style desks from the old dispatch center. The desks are currently not being utilized, are outdated and not economically maintainable. The desk will be disposed of properly after being declared surplus.
