Fire Department

Message from Fire Chief Steve Riley

On behalf of our entire staff, I welcome you to the Westmont Fire Department’s website.  We take pride in our jobs and work hard to deliver exceptional service to our community.  As one of the only community's in the nation to be accredited and having a Class I ISO rating while utilizing a part-time staff, we are committed to embracing evolving best practices to ensure great service for our residents and businesses.

The Westmont Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services for all of Westmont as well as portions of unincorporated DuPage County. The Fire Department provides emergency response for approximately 8.5 square miles, which has more than 26,000 DuPage County citizens. We also provide mutual aid services for several of our surrounding communities.

The Westmont Fire Department recruits members that are equally committed and dedicated to the department and to the people of the community. Fire Department personnel strive to sustain a high level of service through exceptional firefighting, emergency medical, specialized rescue, fire prevention, and public education services. Our personnel is dedicated to being the most educated and prepared emergency service providers. This is accomplished through continuous training and education.

In addition to emergency services, fire prevention personnel provide routine fire safety inspections of all industrial, commercial, educational, and multi-family buildings within the Village. Our Public Education Division provides specialized services through school programs, fire extinguisher training, block parties, children’s safety programs, along with several other public education activities and events.

Please take a moment to browse our website and learn more about the Fire Department. The web pages highlight the various services and activities we offer the community.  If you should have any questions, or would like additional information, please feel to contact me.

Sincerely,

Steve Riley
Fire Chief
