Permit and Bond Fees
Building Fees
(these fees do not include plan review and inspection fees)

All of the fees noted below shall be based on the cost of valuation as determined by the “Means Square Foot Costs,” as published by R.S. Means Company, Inc., Kingston, MA.

Non-Residential (includes multi-family):
$100, plus $8 per $1,000 of the cost of valuation of project

The following shall only be charged a flat fee of $100
  • Fences
  • Window and/or door replacement
  • Roofs
  • Generators
  • HVAC/water heaters
  • Low voltage wiring
  • Temporary signage
  • Antennas

Residential
$75, plus $5 per $1,000 of the cost of valuation of
project, whichever is more.

The following shall only be charged a flat fee of $75:
  • Fences
  • Swimming pools/hot tubs
  • Concrete flat work
  • Generators
  • HVAC/water heaters
  • Window and/or Door replacement
  • Roofs
  • Low voltage wiring

Flat fee of $75

Electric Permit Fees
All electric permit fees shall be $75, unless noted below:

New Service

Residential:
100 to 200 amp $75
201 to 400 amp $100
401 to 600 amp $125

Non-residential:
100 to 200 amp $100
201 to 400 amp $150
401 to 600 amp $200
601 to 800 amp $250
801 to 1000 amp $300
1001 to 2000 amp $350
2001 and over $400
601 and over $150

Service Upgrade

Residential
100 to 200 amp $75
201 to 600 amp $100
601 and over $125

Non-residential
100 to 200 amp $100
201 to 400 amp $125
401 to 600 amp $150
601 to 800 amp $175
801 to 1000 amp $200
1001 to 2000 amp $225
2001 and over $250

Plumbing Permit Fees
$15 per fixture, or minimum of $75, whichever is more

Sign Permit Fees
Sign permits shall cost $5 per square foot..

Temporary signs shall cost $75.

Elevator Permit / Inspection / Plan Review Fees
Plan review fee is performed by an outside agency and the cost is born by the applicant. (typically $100).

Elevator inspections related to a building permit is $100 per inspection. If an inspection fails, a re-inspection fee shall be $100.

Bond Fees (does not include engineering & stormwater permits)
New Residential is 1% of total cost of project, not to exceed $10,000
New Multi-Family Building is 1% of total cost of project, not to exceed $15,000
New Non-Residential is 5% of total cost or project, not to exceed $50,000
Site Work (Multi-family/non-residential) is 5% of total cost, not to exceed $25,000
Signs, a cash bond of $100
