Code Enforcement
The mission of the Code Enforcement Division is to ensure that property and structures are maintained in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition in accordance with the Westmont Municipal Code and the 2012 International Property Maintenance Code.

The Code Enforcement Division will investigate possible code violations, concerns, or complaints reported by the public or discovered by staff during routine patrol of the Village.

The Village of Westmont has adopted the 2012 International Code Council Property Maintenance Code as its main tool for enforcement for code violations. If a citizen feels there is a code violation that needs investigation, please use the REPORT A CONCERN link on the Village Website home page and fill out a service request. This form will be automatically forwarded to the Code Enforcement Division for follow-up. The person filling out the request may then check back to monitor the progress until the case is closed out.

NOTE: While anonymous complaints are accepted, staff is not able to follow up with anonymous complainants or provide status updates.  Additionally, if a complainant gives his or her name, it is subject to FOIA disclosure.

For information on a specific concern, please use the online version of our ordinances, MUNICODE, to search a particular topic, or check out our FAQ section.
