Budget
The Village of Westmont creates and approves an annual budget, which guides the financial operation of the Village of Westmont.  The Village operates on a May 1 - April 30 fiscal year. A budget workshop is typically held in April. To ensure government transparency, budget meetings and workshops are open to the public, and are available via the internet. After the workshops the Village prepares a draft budget, which is voted on by the Village Board, typically in late April or early May. After the Village Board approves the preliminary budget the Finance Department compiles a final budget that functions as a policy document, an operations guide, and a communications document. That final budget is typically available by September. 

For the Fiscal Year May 1, 2016-April 30, 2017 (FY 2016-17), the Village Board held a budget workshop on 4/7/2016. This meeting can be viewed on Youtube. The budget was adopted at the 4/14 Village Board meeting.

Our Document and Forms section of the website also contains PDFs of the final versions of prior budgets.  The introductory sections and narratives strive to reduce the level of difficulty for readers who are not familiar with public budgeting systems, yet provides comprehensive information for staff to utilize as financial policy and day-to-day operation guidelines. Information on individual funds contains a line-item printout of the fiscal year budget. This document is intended for staff to use as a tool in managing daily operations.
