Public Works - Water Maintenance Worker I Position
The Village of Westmont, Illinois (pop. 24,685) is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Water Maintenance Worker I.  

The Water Division is one of three divisions in Public Works and is responsible for the installation and repair of the water distribution system in the Village of Westmont and performs the service of machinery and equipment in the water plant.  

These positions require elementary knowledge of vehicles and equipment utilized in public works maintenance and repair operations.  Also, requires elementary knowledge of methods, procedures, tools, and materials used in public works maintenance and repair.

The ideal candidates must be a dedicated individuals with integrity and strength of character.  Candidates should also have a track record of positive interaction with employees, supervisors, elected officials and citizens.  Requires High School diploma or equivalent and two years experience in a waterworks municipal system.  Must possess valid Illinois Vehicle Operator’s License (CDL preferred).

Community Development - Code Enforcement Officer
The Village of Westmont, Illinois (pop. 24,685) is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Code Enforcement Officer-Community Development

This position is responsible for enforcement of the 2012 International Property Maintenance Code (with local amendments) and the Community Development Department permitting procedures for construction projects; documenting violations; guiding compliance; and providing technical assistance to a variety of public.

Applicant must be a dedicated individual with integrity and strength of character.  Requires working knowledge of building codes, construction practices, zoning codes, and environmental regulations or municipal ordinance interpretation is preferred.  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to prepare, organize, and communicate field data reports is required.

Requires a minimum completion of two years college with courses in planning, engineering, architecture, construction technology, public administration or related field.  Must possess and maintain ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.   Must possess valid IL Vehicle Operator’s License.  For full job description see Job Description: Code Enforcement Officer 

Starting salary range is $54,600-$61,000 (DOQ).  Average weekly hours are 40 hours per week.  Weekend hours are required.
