  1. Wicked West Fest Scarecrow Decorating Contest

    October 9, 8:00 AM - October 23, 3:00 PM @ Downtown Westmont on Cass

    Organize your family, business, or community organization into a team and enter the Chamber’s Scarecrow Contest. Scarecrows will be on display in downtown Westmont and the entire community is asked to cast their votes for their favorite scarecrow.   2. Electronics Recycling Program

    October 21, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    Downers Grove Township Electronics Recycling Program 8 a.m to Noon at their Highway Department Facility at 318 E. Quincy Street in Westmont. The program will be held on the third Saturday of each month, unless that date falls on a holiday. There are a few program changes including a charge for TVs.   3. Wicked West Fest Halloween Costume Contest

    October 21, 10:30 AM @ Downtown Westmont - Northeast corner of Cass and Irving

    Dress up for Halloween and come to downtown Westmont to be part of this fun costume contest. There will be six categories: Newborn to 1-year olds, 2-5 years old, 6-9 years old, 10-13 years old, 14 & older, and s group/family category (Must have at least 3 people).   4. Wicked West Fest Pumpkin Smashing Extravaganza

    October 21, 10:30 AM @ Downtown Westmont - Corner of Cass and Irving

    Westmont community groups and public agencies will compete in our 3rd annual pumpkin smashing extravaganza. Competitors will go 20 feet up in the air in a bucket truck and then throw their pumpkin at a target below in an attempt to earn the titles of Pumpkin King and Queen. All of the fun is an effort to promote pumpkin recycling/composting at Richmond Education Gardens & Apiary. For more information, contact us at communications@westmont.il.gov or 630-417-0280.

  7. Wicked West Fest Haunted Forest Tour

    October 21, 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ Diane Main Park 200 W. 59th St

    Follow the trail and take a haunted hayrack ride through Twin Lakes Woods as ghosts, ghouls and monsters come alive before your very eyes! There will be a Merry Monsters Matinee (spooky) performance from 5 to 6:30PM for younger children. Cost is $6 per person. For more information contact the Westmont Park District at 630-963-5252.

  8. National Drug Take Back Day

    October 28, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Police Department

    The Westmont Police Department will host an unwanted and expired prescription drug disposal program on Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Westmont Police Department. The collection will accept pills, patches, and needles that are in a Sharps container. The program will not accept radioactive medicines, liquids, creams, inhalers, or EpiPens.
